"The home of volunteering in Brent"
Member of The HFVC Group

Since the launch of the project back in October 2011, Brent’s Working has been busy working with the local community to not only place people into volunteering but also working with local organisations to create volunteering opportunities.

So far the project has engaged with over 150 people, delivering advice and guidance and also providing job support. Many of these clients have been placed into voluntary work and have also had access to our free training such as pre employment and 1st Aid.

In May Brent’s working co hosted the Brent Active Citizens Jobs Fair along with The Brent into Volunteering & Employment Project (BIVEP). This was an opportunity for the community to get information about available jobs and also free training courses in the area; this event was attended by over 200 local people.

As the summer festivities and Olympics begin, Brent’s Working helped celebrate the opening 2012 ceremony at the South Kilburn Family Fun day. There was a range of entertainment from local Brent talent and information from organisations at this urban Olympic style event that locals could get involved in. During the event everyone gathered together to watch the Opening Ceremony on the big screen.
