2014 Brent Jobs Fair
Last year’s event was such a success that it was thought to be a tough act to follow for this year, but the 2014 Brent Jobs Fair was an even better! A similar number of local residents attended (approx. 600) to meet an expanded range of employers who were actively recruiting with live vacancies. It was a hugely productive day for all involved and jobseekers came ready prepared with their CVs and presenting themselves well to employers such as:
Women into Construction • Brent Start • Link Communication
In addition, jobseekers benefited from Interview and CV Workshops carried out by Brent Active Citizens. The Mayor of Brent, Cllr Kana Naheetheran, and the Leader of Brent Council, Cllr Muhammed Butt, came to meet employers and jobseekers and to show their support to employment initiatives for the borough.
Dominic Pinkney, Brent Active Citizens Chief Executive, said ‘What a fantastic and productive day for all who attended and I am extremely proud of my team of staff and many volunteers who worked so hard to make the Jobs Fair a total success. Employment is a key issue for the borough and Brent Active Citizens organised this event to help connect local employers with local jobseekers. We have organised a Jobs Fair each year for several years now and they seem to get better each time!’
