Whats next?
If you know any young people aged 17-24 with mild to moderate mental health problems that would benefit from this project or you would like free training for your organisation, then please contact Sara Benjamin on 07849893604 or email sara@brentactivecitizens.org.uk

  We will require a referral form and risk assessment to be completed on all young people with mental health problems that are referred to the service. Referral forms will be provided on request.





#MOM (Mind Over Matters) is an exciting new project run by Brent Active Citizens which encourages young people aged 17-24 to be inspired to achieve their goals.
#MOM aims to get young people involved in their community via volunteering, training and exciting youth led activities and also promotes and raises awareness of mental health problems with the vision to reduce stigma and discrimination.

What will young people get out of it?
Although the project is aimed at young people with mild to moderate mental health issues #MOM also engages with young people who are interested in becoming mentors to other young people who are experiencing mental health issues .

Volunteers can:
Start volunteering Enhance their knowledge and skills by becoming a mentor, offering support to young people with mental health problems Enhance their CV Receive free training Make new friends

 (Young people with mental health problems) can also
Develop their confidence and motivation through 1:1 mentoring support Develop their personal and social skills Have loads of fun

In addition:
All young people involved will have the opportunity to What we can offer your organisation?
Free training in Mental Health Awareness and the benefits of involving young people with mental health into an organisation is available for local voluntary and community organisations, youth workers and those from the businesses and public sector.
